I'm a small town kind of girl. I grew up in the really cool town of Fayetteville, WV (and left part of my heart there). West Virginia is so beautiful that naturally it shows up in a lot of my paintings. But, things constantly evolve and so I found myself in North Carolina in 2001. There are a lot of great things about the south - mild winters, iced tea, hospitality - and after a small adjustment period, I've come to love my southern home.
I have no grand artist's statement, I just try to make connections with my paintings. Connecting myself to the viewer, viewers to an experience, or viewers to each other. Community, Connections, Relationships. These things are important to me so I want them to show in my work.
